Strip Mining Project in a Block in Pakistan


1. Project Location:
The Thar Coalfield is located in the Thar Desert of Sindh Province, Pakistan, and falls under the jurisdiction of Mithi City. The Thar Block I open-pit coal mining project is situated in the central part of the Thar Coalfield, near the town of Islamkot.

2. Project Owner:
Block I of the Tal Coal Mine is under the jurisdiction of Huaxin Resources Limited Liability Company (SSRL), with Shanghai Electric serving as SSRL’s majority shareholder.

3. Construction Type:
Hongda Blasting is primarily responsible for earthwork stripping, transportation, and waste dumping in Lot 2 of the open-pit mining project in Block I of the Thar Coalfield in Pakistan, as well as coal extraction and transportation to designated locations. No blasting operations are conducted; the construction method involves direct excavation of native soil and rock.
The general contractor shall provide production equipment, equipment maintenance and repair services, lubricants and consumables, and primary commuter vehicles, as well as accommodation and office space (with applicable utility charges billed separately).

4. Project Scale:
The Phase II operation and maintenance project under construction is an open-pit lignite mine with a capacity of 7.8 million tonnes per annum.
