Guyana Aurora Project

The Aurora Project in Guyana is the country’s only large-scale, producing gold mine. It is located approximately 170 km west of the capital, Georgetown, and 130 km northwest of Bartica, at the confluence of the Essequibo and Cuyuni Rivers. The company was primarily responsible for Phase I of the underground mining operation—constructing the main and auxiliary shafts along with associated facilities—and completed Guyana’s first and second 1,000-meter‑deep vertical shafts as part of this project.
