Peru Marcona Project


The Marcona Project in Peru is located in the city of Marcona, Nazca Province, Ica Region, in southern Peru, approximately 520 kilometers north of the capital, Lima. It lies along the Pacific Ocean and is adjacent to the renowned Nazca Lines archaeological site. The mining concession covers an area of 670.7 square kilometers, with iron ore reserves estimated at 2.2 to 2.7 billion tons and an average grade of 51%–57% Fe—significantly higher than the global average. The deposit also hosts associated metals, including copper, cobalt, lead, and zinc. The company is responsible for the drilling and blasting operations at Pit No. 20, the first major pit at the Marcona Project.
