Zijin Serbia Chukalu-Pegi Copper-Gold Mine Mining Project
The Zijin Qiu Kalu-Pegi copper–gold mine is located in the city of Bor, eastern Serbia. It is a world-class, super-large copper–gold deposit, often hailed as “the jewel in the crown of European copper and gold,” with an annual mining capacity exceeding 2.1 million tonnes.
The company undertook the core mining operations at the Chukalu-Peggy copper–gold mine, leveraging an intelligent blasting design system and high-precision mining equipment to achieve safer, more efficient, and more intensive mining practices. This not only ensured that the mine consistently met its annual production targets but also helped the project attain its dual “zero” goals: zero major safety incidents and zero environmental compliance violations.
