Pakistan Block II Excavation and Overburden Removal Project
The Block II project in Pakistan’s Thar Coalfield is located in the Thar Coalfield region of the Thar Desert in southeastern Sindh Province, Pakistan. The Thar Coalfield is the largest coal basin discovered in Pakistan to date and ranks as the world’s seventh-largest and Asia’s largest lignite deposit, with estimated coal reserves of approximately 175 billion tonnes.
